At last! Here I am again. I truly apologize to all my followers. The past few months have been difficult, to say the least, although I have kept on writing
when I could, and my sweet hubby has been doing his best to keep working on publishing my books (My novel for adults, Hellfire and Snowdrops, came out in print on February 2nd, available on Amazon under the author name of C. W. Henney--in order to
keep my novel separate from children's books by Carolee Wells Henney).
I am just now beginning to feel normal again after my breast cancer surgery
on October 31st, 2013, followed by a month of radiation. As I said in an earlier post on my blog, I fell and broke a bone in my right hand on May 27th last. Then, in November, one of my grandsons went through three serious surgeries in 11 days, followed
by weeks of recuperation unil the last drain was removed from his side in late January. Whew! Doesn't life throw stuff at us from time to time? Just two weeks ago one of my granddaughters had a difficult birthing of a very handsome baby boy. Everything
is OK now although her husband had to go into the hospital last Thursday for surgery but was out the next day. Fortu- nately, I sleep well and do not worry about what might happen next.
I hope that all my readers are happy and healthy. It has been difficult for most of us here on the east coast and in the midwest this month because
of the terrible winter weather. My husband and I haven't been able to go to the grocery for five days, but did finally make it out on our icy road today to replenish our larder.
Incidentally, I have discovered, through talking with many people over the last few months, that many people do not know that they can download Kindle books on whatever device they have, whether it is a computer, a pocket-size
computer (like a Nook, or similar device), a smart phone, like an Iphone or other similar phone, or the several devices that work like a Ipad. All you need to do is go to Amazon.com and look for the "free Amazon Kindle reader." If you don't see
it right away when you get the Amazon opening page, just put that phrase into the search box at the top, press "Enter," and it should pop up for you to download to whatever device that you have. It is really great to have the free Kindle reader
because you can download actually thousands of ebooks that Amazon offers FREE. My husband has downloaded, free, dozens that he is interested in, mostly having to do with publishing (and even some
that he thought I might be interested in, all free). He also buys ebooks that are not free. To see a list of free ebooks, just put "free ebooks" in the search box at the top of the Amazon opening page search box and press "enter.
And don't forget to look for my books. You can read a couple of chapters without buying just by clicking on "look inside."
All of my children’s stories embody the ideas of good manners, friendship, kindness to others, and neatness, attributes most
of us strive for in our own children.
I do not believe in stories of violence
for children, or horror stories for the young. I want my books to be a happy fantasy land for today’s children to retreat to and feel safe.
Until next time, I wish the very best for all of you.
